In 2006, Benedictine monk, author, and lecturer Br. David Steindl-Rast recorded a short audio meditation about gratefulness, set to music by award-winning composer Gary Malkin for promotional use for A Network for Grateful Living (www.gratefulness.org). The meditation, spontaneously spoken by Br. David, flowed from a heart honed by decades of prayer, practice, and sharing, and was given the title “A Good Day.” With this beautiful recording – Executive Producer was Chris Wilson, Producers were Jan St. John and Margaret Wakeley – video editor Alejandro R. Torres wedded the audio to the public domain images selected by Margaret Wakeley. Since it’s release on YouTube in 2007 (and translated into 13 languages), “A Good Day” has had over one million views, and it has been used in countless ways in therapeutic settings, spiritual centers, business meetings, prisons, hospitals, and schools.
